  • Power stage: two 6C19П — a powerful small triode developed in the Soviet Union, originally intended not for audio but as a reliable component in various industrial and professional electronic systems. It was created during a period when compact but powerful regulation and stabilization tubes were in high demand — the late 1960s and 1970s, when the USSR electronics sector was rapidly expanding.

    Its construction is typical of Soviet industrial products: durable, highly resistant to vibration and mechanical impact, and with a service life that usually exceeds the manufacturer’s specifications. This reliability made it popular in professional stabilizers, laboratory power supplies, and communication equipment.

    Although not originally intended for audiophiles, its electrical characteristics — low internal resistance, high plate current, and excellent linearity — later attracted tube-amp designers. The tube’s compact size and modest plate voltage allow the construction of small but highly musical amplifiers that take up little space and generate less heat than large triodes.

  • Driver stage: two 6C3П-ДР — a small-signal high-frequency triode developed in the Soviet Union as part of the “professional-grade” tube class. These tubes were designed for military and aerospace applications, where stable operation in harsh conditions, long life, and precise electrical parameters were crucial.

    The index “-ДР” (from russian “Долговечный, Ресурсный") stands for “long-life, extended-resource” — a quality designation given only to carefully selected tubes tested under stricter controls. ДР versions typically exceed 10,000–20,000 operating hours and adhere to very tight parameter tolerances. Structurally, the 6C3П- ДР is a very compact miniature triode with an indirectly heated cathode and excellent high-frequency stability — making it useful in RF amplifiers and oscillators.

6C19П Sound Quality

The 6C19П tube has a dense, soft tonal structure that gives music an organic, slightly “velvety” character. It is not overly bright or aggressive in the high frequencies — on the contrary, it tends to smooth out sharp or digitally harsh sources.

Its very low internal resistance (only a few hundred ohms) provides much better bass control than most small triodes. The bass is deep, even, and has solid punch — a rare quality for SE designs, where bass often becomes loose.  Midrange — vocals, instrumental timbre, strings — is rendered very musically and cleanly. High frequencies are non-intrusive.

Thanks to its indirectly heated cathode, the 6C19П operates very quietly — background noise is practically inaudible even with sensitive speakers.

6C3П-ДР Sound Quality:

As an audio tube, the 6C3П-ДР stands out with a very specific yet captivating character. It sounds different from classic European miniature triodes such as ECC88 or 6N23P. The tube provides extremely high-resolution sound with exceptional ability to reveal the smallest musical nuances: subtle percussion, room acoustics, reverberation tails, and instrument textures. The detail is “microscopic,” yet the overall presentation remains musical, not sterile. High frequencies are clear, precise, and dynamically accurate. The midrange is clean and transparent, less romanticized than that of large triodes — it does not add extra warmth but maintains analytical precision. This makes the 6C3П-ДР an excellent choice for vocals, strings, synthesizers, and acoustic instruments — everything sounds precise and free of “haze.”

Thanks to its high transconductance and wide bandwidth, its bass is clearly articulated with excellent transient response — not thickened, but technically accurate, reminiscent of professional broadcast-grade tubes.

The indirectly heated cathode combined with ДР-grade selection ensures near-absolute silence in the background — no microphonics, no unwanted vibration noise, no thermal drift. This is one reason the tube is highly valued by vinyl enthusiasts in RIAA stages.
